Position: H5 Part Time Teller

Salary: $15.52

Reports To:  Teller Operations Supervisor/Assistant Supervisor



A high school education or GED.

Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, mathematical, problem solving, multitasking and computer skills, and detail orientation required.  Knowledge of TFCU systems, products, services, policies, procedures, protocols required. Cash handling skills preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Builds/strengthens member relationships by greeting members in a courteous/ professional manner, providing superior member service and processing transactions accurately/efficiently.

Processes deposits, withdrawals, loan payments and other transactions (e.g., fund transfers among accounts, etc.) by verifying member identity/signatures, securing approval for transactions when appropriate and ensuring the accuracy of amounts handled. 

Sells negotiable items (e.g., money orders, travelers, gift and official checks) and assists in daily proofing by matching GL entries/totals against tallies of items sold, advising the Supervisor of errors and, as directed, researching them.

Cross-sells TFCU products and services by advising members of rates, benefits and features, identifying potential sales opportunities and referring members to Financial Services Representatives for further assistance.

Ensures proper coding, scanning and storage of negotiable items, as well as the accurate calculation/assignment of fees/interest/service charges and the entry of all transactions into the appropriate TFCU system. Accesses the system to researches accounts for flags, notes, fees before completing transactions. 

Ensures the security of the workstation including cash and negotiable items, advises the Supervisor when cash on hand exceeds prescribed limit and when additional cash is needed.

Balances the Teller drawer daily by counting currency/coin/checks received, preparing Federal Reserve deposits, inventorying negotiable items and resolving discrepancies. Assists other Tellers with daily balancing as assigned.

Keeps abreast of and complies with TFCU policies, procedures, guidelines. Keeps the Supervisor informed of activities, conditions and issues.

Works in other Branches as assigned and, as directed, trains new Tellers.
